SDI Seriplex™ Drive Interface |
|||||||||||
Niobrara's SDI is a Seriplex drive interface that connects a variable speed motor drive to a Seriplex network. The SDI permits a Seriplex master to issue motor speed and direction instructions to the drive and allows the drive to report status and fault conditions to the master. The SDI is a small, DIN rail mountable module which is easy to connect, configure, and use. Motor speed is controlled by a 0-10 volt analog output from the SDI, written as a 12-bit word with 10-bit resolution. In addition, the SDI provides three Seriplex digital outputs plus three Seriplex digital inputs which can be used as an application requires. The SDI operates on Mode 2 Seriplex networks of either 12 or 24 volts and requires one 16-bit input word and one 16-bit output word from the motor. The multiplex channel address and starting bit address define which Seriplex bits are used by the SDI. A DIP switch on the front panel configures these addresses; switch bits SW1 through SW4 set the multiplex channel from 0-15 and switch bits SW5 through SW8 set the starting bit address Major Applications and Industries:Material Handling/Packaging Fiber and Textiles Fan/Pump control Wire and Cable Machine ToolProduct Features:Optical isolation between the motor interface and the Seriplex network Mode 2 (master/slave), multiplex channel and starting address switch selectable
