Connect SY/NET (blue hose)
to Modicon - SY/MAX PLC Networks
In this example, a Quantum PLC is connected to a SY/NET network via Modbus Plus to an MEB, and from the MEB to a NIM. Devices on SY/NET can read and write registers in the Quantum and the Quantum can read and write devices on SY/NET. A PC running Modicon programming software can program the Quantum over SY/NET when connected via an NR&D Modbus port.
A SY/NET network is connected to a Modbus device through a NIM and one of NR&D's protocol translation modules; an SPE4, EPE5, or MEB. Connection to the Compact 984's Modbus port is made with an SC902 and an MA9M. Devices on SY/NET can read and write registers in the Compact. A PC running Modicon programming software can program the Compact over SY/NET when connected via an NR&D Modbus port.
Connection from SY/NET to a SY/MAX processor is made through a NIM.
